The Compass Blueprint program recognizes and provides opportunities for local planning efforts that creatively and efficiently integrate land use and transportation planning.  The annual Awards recognize the most forward-thinking projects that demonstrate excellence and achievement in the four key elements of Compass Blueprint planning: Livability, Mobility, Prosperity and Sustainability.

Award winners will be recognized at the Compass Blueprint Recognition Awards Program that will be held in conjunction with the 2012 Regional Conference & General Assembly, on April 5, 2012, at the Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.  Last year’s event attracted over 600 elected officials, business leaders and community stakeholders.  This year’s General Assembly coincides with the planned adoption of the 2012-2035 Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy, so it will give award winners a large event to showcase their project/plan regionally and throughout the state.

The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) is the nation's largest metropolitan planning organization, representing six counties, 191 cities and more than 18 million residents. SCAG undertakes a variety of planning and policy initiatives to encourage a more sustainable Southern California now and in the future.
